SAGE

THE FILM
A STORE.
A FAMILY HISTORY.
Sage is a short oral-history portrait of Sage Market, a Japanese American grocery store in Salt Lake City. Through the owner’s memories, the film traces the store’s history and the work of carrying it into the present.
Created as an English-class school project, the film looks at how one neighborhood business can hold family history, cultural memory, and a sense of community.
